Nippon Express-owned freight forwarder cargo-partner said it has expanded its charter programme with the introduction of a new Hong Kong Consol service aimed at the automotive and high-tech/electronics industries.

In partnership with a carrier, cargo-partner said it guarantees space availability, even during peak season.

The service includes comprehensive pre-carriage from any location in Hong Kong and China, and last-mile delivery to destinations across Europe.

The Austria-headquartered forwarder’s new service is anticipated to strengthen its Asia-Europe operations.

Three weekly charter flights from Hong Kong (HKG) to Budapest (BUD) and Warsaw (WAW) are now offered by cargo-partner, providing secured capacity and express handling for time-critical shipments.

“Our new Hong Kong Consol service is a direct response to our customers’ need for fast, reliable, and secure transport solutions for their most sensitive cargo,” said Patrick Petznek, corporate product manager air cargo at cargo-partner.

“In industries where every hour counts, this strategic enhancement to our airfreight portfolio provides a crucial competitive advantage, ensuring that our clients’ supply chains remain resilient and efficient.”

The new service addresses an increase in Europe-bound cargo from Asian countries, including not just China and Hong Kong, but also India, Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand, all of which cargo-partner serves with regular consolidation services.

The company currently operates close to 100 weekly consolidations to destinations worldwide, all with end-to-end service including pre-carriage and last-mile delivery.

This is built upon hubs in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing in China, as well as Vienna, Budapest, and Frankfurt in Europe.

The forwarder’s focus on key Asian markets also extends to India, where the company has been operating since 2006.

The recent EU-India trade agreement has highlighted the growing importance of the India-Europe trade lane, said cargo-partner. The forwarder has multiple weekly airfreight services connecting Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore to its European hubs.

In addition to weekly charter flights, cargo-partner offers a range airfreight solutions for different timelines or budgets.

For urgent shipments, cargo-partner’s specialised emergency team provides next-flight-out, on-board courier, and full or partial charter services.

In September last year, cargo-partner secured air cargo capacity on several flights out of the UK, covering 12 new destinations across Asia, North America and Africa.
